An emphasis on effective wayfinding

Effective wayfinding is more than just a convenience; it is a critical component of resident autonomy and safety. By using distinct color structures — such as assigning specific hues to each floor of a building — facilities can create intuitive "pathways" that compensate for cognitive or visual decline.

These environmental cues reduce the cognitive load required to navigate a building, helping residents identify their location at a glance and lowering the anxiety and frustration often associated with disorientation.
